With the vision that every citizen should know about the Right to Information Act and be able to exercise their right to access information, Avanaganti Satish Kumar (RTI Satish) has been continuously working to create awareness about the Right to Information (RTI) Act among the public.
Believing that the Right to Information Act is one of the most powerful democratic tools available to ordinary citizens, RTI Satish works to make the provisions and procedures of the Act easy to understand. He also provides guidance in drafting RTI applications, particularly for people who are unfamiliar with the process.
Establishment of RTI RAKSHAK
With the objective of creating wider public awareness about the Right to Information Act, RTI RAKSHAK was established in April 2022.
Through RTI RAKSHAK, efforts are being made to expand RTI awareness activities across the two Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Committees are being established at district and mandal (local administrative) levels to create a grassroots network that can reach citizens more effectively.
One of the key objectives of RTI Satish is to present the RTI Act not merely as a legal provision, but as a powerful democratic tool through which citizens can seek information about government administration, public services and the use of public funds.
Making RTI Easy for the Common Citizen
Many people are unable to exercise their Right to Information simply because they do not know how to draft and submit an RTI application.
Keeping this challenge in mind, RTI Satish works to create awareness in simple and accessible language on topics such as:
- How to file an RTI application
- How to ask for the right information
- Whom to submit an RTI application to
- How to draft an effective RTI application
- What to do when information is not provided within the prescribed time
- How to file a First Appeal
- How to proceed with a Second Appeal or Complaint
- How citizens can legally obtain information through the RTI Act
Through these efforts, the aim is to make the RTI process easier and more accessible to ordinary citizens.

To take RTI awareness to a wider audience, RTISATISH.COM is being developed as a dedicated digital platform for information related to the Right to Information Act.
